Many helmet earphones come with extra pieces, such as earbud covers, carrying cases, and plug converters. Take a close look at the wiring system prior to purchasing them as they are not all the same and you may find some more comfortable than others. Those that offer active noise reduction will feature a control box which hangs at the bottom of the neck strap to detect ambient noise levels and control them. These systems may have what is considered excessive wiring by some.
Since everyone has a different shape to their ears, some will fit better than others. An earbud that does not stay in place will not help to reduce the ambient noise, so be sure you find some with a good fit. You want to find a system that fits your ears and stays in place as you take your helmet on and off. A good set of helmet earphones will provide you with clear sound after you have started your motorcycle and hit the road. You want a good pair which will control the noise when you are riding. Even if the earphones work well and all the control functions appear to work, the real test is using them in your regular riding conditions. If they do not control the noise while riding, they are not the helmet earphones for you.
